Ned Orrett

Masters Sculling Coach

Ned, a US Rowing Level 2 Coach, learned the art from excellent coaches including Jim Dietz, Mark Wilson, Tim McLaren, Gordon Hamilton, Buzz Congram, Marlene Royle, and even Andy Anderson (aka Dr. Rowing); also the rowing literature, and teaching tips delivered by Decent Rowing.  This input enabled Ned, a coxswain-sized rower, to collect medals normally reserved for real rowers.  His passion is to help athletes discover how to feel stable in a boat while moving it with grace and ease.

Ned arrived at rowing later in life after success as a bike racer and teaching ski mountaineering, Cajun Dance, and environmental studies.  With NBRC he has helped with many regattas and racing shell repair.
