Joining the Membership
Thanks to the mild climate and protected waterway of the Petaluma River, North Bay Rowing Club members enjoy year round rowing. NBRC’s membership offers coached and independent rowing, and opportunities for both recreational and competitive rowing. Rowing is available to anyone regardless of experience level, fitness level, or competitive spirit.
With a general membership, both incoming experienced rowers and first time learners can have the opportunity to take boats out on your own time. Club equipment and facilities are available to members during daylight hours and are reserved in advance online. This allows you to find the time in your schedule that works best for you and rest assured that there will be a boat available for you when you arrive. Once you've been cleared by a coach and have demonstrated your understanding of rowing and the required safety checks, you can start utilizing club equipment and facilities. Members sign up for sweep rowing practices via the TeamSnap website or app. Team practices are visible on our club calendars.
With your membership dues, you get access to NBRC's facilities and equipment, as well as the option to join one of our coached programs or schedule sculling lessons for additional fees.
NBRC enjoys being part of the wider Petaluma River community. Your membership gives you access to this network of people-powered boaters, and social events celebrating our community, including scrimmages and potlucks. As a member of NBRC, you can fulfill your annual volunteer requirement of 15 hours during work parties at the yard, assistance with the Petaluma River Marathon/Half Marathon, river cleanups, committee work and more.
