High School Competitive team
The Competitive Team trains extensively to compete at both the regional and national level against some of the fastest crews in the country. In a two-season sport, athletes will race in five-kilometer races in the fall (September to November) and two-kilometer races in the spring (January to May), with additional practice opportunities available through the winter and summer. NBRC has been represented at the USRowing Youth National Championships for the past four years, and has had athletes recruited to a number of Division I schools such as Cal, Stanford, Boston, and the University of Washington.
There's no experience necessary, and the basics of the sport will be taught to everyone during tryouts! It's also a great next step for anyone who participated in our U15 Development program and wants to continue improving their skills in a more competitive atmosphere. No matter what your experience level, hard work, dedication, and a strong sense of teamwork are required!
