Coach Pam Hughes


Pam combines her sports, scientific and aquatic skills for optimal mindset towards rowing and coaching. Coach Pam graduated scholar/athlete under Rutgers University while competing D-1 Varsity 8+. She is a USRowing Level II coach, holds a California Boater Card, Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certified with additionally completing Exploring Sport Coaching and Psychology. She has competed in several regattas as a sculler including the Head of the Charles and Head of the Schuylkill.  Her professional career focused in Biology with attention to education, animal husbandry and publishing. She dedicated 11 years as a Senior Aquatic Biologist to California Academy of Sciences.
As an avid water sport participant, she sailed from Oahu to California and attained a Stress and Rescue SCUBA certification.
Since 2013, Pam has been a sculling coach with attention from Novice to Masters class and Novice Sweep Coach.
