Steve began rowing as a graduate student at the University of Oxford, competing in the twice yearly Bumps regattas as well as regional level regattas and the Head of the River Races. As a coach at NBRC he has guided crews to a top 30 finish at the Head of the Charles (Youth 4+, 2019) and 13^th (U17 4+. 2022, winning the C final) at Youth Nationals. He has also coached individuals who have represented Oxford University, Cal Berkeley, San Diego and Oregon States. He strongly believes in the benefits of rowing mentally and physically, and brings experience of overseas rowing and different coaching methods.
