After a COVID-induced break, the Petaluma River Marathon and Half Marathon, founded in 2004, returns. Held on the Sunday before Labor Day, the Marathon invites competitors in self-propelled boats from rowing shells to Hawaiian outrigger canoes to experience a championship competition on the relatively calm and protected waters of the Petaluma River. The race is followed by a friendly potluck and awards ceremony. North Bay Rowing Club is happy to again be able to host this multi-hull event, an opportunity to celebrate our river (really a tidal slough), our camaraderie in boating, and good, healthy competition.
